Studebaker US6x6 U-5, 2½-ton, 6x6, Gasoline Tank
The U-5 was a rarer version of the most popular Lend-Lease truck, as just 500 were produced in 1941-42 and another 1,500 in 1945.
The standard US6x6 chassis with the long (162in.) wheelbase was fitted with the same 750 gal. tank as the GMC CCKW-353 2½-ton 6x6 truck.
As the 426 samples delivered - probably all out of the first batch - were in no way sufficient to supply their forces, the Russians converted additional US6x4 chassis to mount domestic tank bodies and called them BZ-35S.
