SU-12, 76mm SPG on GAZ-AAA
Being the first Russian 6x4 truck, the first GAZ-AAAs left the production halls of the »Gorkiy Auto Zavod« at the end of 1934.
Proving robust and reliable, its chassis served as the base for many tasks, among them as platform for the 76mm regimental gun 1927 thus forming the SU-12 or SU-1-12 as it was called as well.
The self-propelled gun subsequently served as a mobile support for the mechanized Red Army divisions and stayed in service right into the Great Patriotic War.
Note : All truck drawings are based on the excellent line-drawings of Mr. V. Malginov in the Russian magazine Modelist-Konstruktor.
