Autocannone Breda da 20/65 Model 39

In 1941 and 1942, several captured Ford CMP F15 15-cwt 4x2 trucks were equipped with the superb 20mm Breda da 20/65 anti-aircraft gun forming the so-called "Autocannone Breda da 20/65".
The autocannoni were urgently needed to protect the famous "batterie volanti" operating in the vast desert plains against British air attacks.
The Breda gun was in fact well-known to the Allied fighter pilots who often avoided contact when possible.
As the Regio Esercito was constantly short of captured CMPs they requested them from the Germans by offering their own Lancia or Fiat heavy trucks.
However, sometimes the autocannoni were misidentified by own troops resulting in their loss thru "friendly fire".

Note early 2B1 cargo body, PSP plate and extra jerry cans for increased range

Cab roof and windscreen removed, tires partially oversprayed with sand colour
